LNER K4 2-6-0 No. 61994 "The Great Marquess" with the outward leg of today's "Welsh Mountaineer" approaching Dolgarrog.




Alan Roberts, Relief Signaller at 6G, took this privileged view shot from the signalbox at 6G of the above train as 61994 runs
round it's train from Bleanau Ffestiniog - Preston.

August 20th 2013.

LNER K4 2-6-0 No. 61994 "The Great Marquess" startles a pair of swans, on the River Conwy, as she skirts the RSPB wildlife preserve
approaching Glan Conwy station en route to Blaenau Ffestiniog with today's 'Welsh Mountaineer'.

August 18th 2013.

Black Five 45305 with today's North Wales Coast Express outward leg passing underneath
Tan y Bryn footbridge at Mochdre.

to the Vallry triangle to be turned for the home leg.

August 17th 2013.

Castle class, 4-6-0 No. 5043 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe' races towards Colwyn Bay station with this mornings
outward leg of the Welsh Dragon.



5043 with the evening return leg storming through the Bay station.

46233 pulls the homeward leg of the  Crewe - Carlisle Cumbrian Mountain Express through Bryn station , near Wigan.

August 11th 2013.

Ieuan Wood had the light against him this morning, at Hough Green near Widnes, but he managed to catch a great shot of
Black Five 45305 with the outward leg of today's 15 Guinea Special en route to Manchester to be then relieved by Britannia Class
70013 "Oliver Cromwell" for the completion of the journey to Carlisle.

This first shot shows the train easing through Glan Conwy.
Alan tells me that he double checked the tide tables before attempting this shot as he was standing on the dry
river bed after the tide had gone out.
