The first shot shows LNER 0-6-0T No. 8667 at an unidentified depot (undated)

The following 27 photos were taken by Peter Cookson.
They were taken from the book
"London Midland Steam in Yorkshire"
published by Bradford Barton during the 70's.

Many thanks to John Marsh for bringing this detail to my attention
and also many thanks to the photographer Peter Cookson for allowing
these evocotive memories to be published below and for providing location details for all of the views.

also gives credit to the photographer. Many thanks John for your kind words and detail.
It is allways satisfying to be able to credit the photographer and learn details of the train.

Hi Geoff,

Brilliant website! Really enjoy the nostalgia from the steam days.

In regard to the photo of LMS 2P 40630 in the Ken Wood Collection (2).

It was taken by Peter Cookson and is leaving Pontefract Monkhill for Goole on 23/3/57 with the 2.00pm SO Wakefield Goole service.

I know the photographer and have been in contact with him recently.

Keep up the good work!

Best regards, John Marsh.
