1D27. 11.15 Crewe to Bangor.

1V06. 14.17 Bangor to Cardiff.

1M84.12.00 Cardiff to Crewe, extended to Llandudno as an afternoon relief.

1K34. 17.40 Llandudno to Crewe. Afternoon Relief.

The first appearance of a class 33 along the coast took place on June 13th, 1982, when No 33008 worked a Blaenau Ffestiniog Pullman Railtour
as far as Llandudno Junction.

In 1985, the stock of the 05,50 Cardiff to Crewe was used to form 1D27, and returned as 1V06.

The first locomotive to work this diagram on May 13th was 33019.

For about three weeks during August & September, 1D27 was extended to Holyhead as a relief working, bringing the 33s to the port, the honours
going to 33021 on August 16th.

During the summer of 1985, the stock of the 12.00 Cardiff to Crewe, ( 1M84 ) was used to form an afternoon relief from Crewe to Llandudno, bringing
the class to the Queen resort for the first time.

From May 1986, 1D27 was again extended to Holyhead, and returned at 14.08 ( 1V09 ) to Cardiff.

1M84 was again extended to Llandudno returning at 17.40 to Crewe as 1K34
the first being hauled by 33004 on Tuesday May 13th.

The final revenue working from Holyhead to Cardiff was on September 27th 1986.
when 33207 left the port at 14.08.

One further working was an SEG Railtour from London Victoria to Blaenau Ffestiniog as far as Llandudno Junction on
December 13th, hauled by 33202 & 33209.

On July 1st, 1989, an unexpected excursion, ( 1Z38 ) was worked from Wareham to Bangor. hauled throughout by 33109, with two 4TC sets 8012 & 8015.
Upon arrival, the rare visitor travelled light diesel to Holyhead for fuel & servicing.

Amazingly the return working was propelled from Bangor and thus became the first diesel push pull train in North Wales.

It was also the first push pull train since the steam hauled " Welsh Dragon " which ended in 1965.

Eight years later, on September 6th, 1997, a rail tour from Salisbury to Holyhead was hauled throughout by 33030 & 33051.

Other rare visitors to note along the coast, have been two class 27s, D5406 ( 27042 ) on May 17th 1964, and D5387
( 27104 ) on June 20th, 1965, with excursions from Leicester.

Electro = Diesels, Numbers 73002 & 73006 worked a special  (1T70 ) from Crewe to
Llandudno Junction on March 12th, 1994.
